Winter has arrived at Rose Rock

My front yard at 7 am on Friday. Mother Nature left me a little gift.

Winter arrived early yesterday morning.  Sleet and snow fell for several hours, accumulating to over four inches in depth.  With that, frigid temperatures moved in.

The overnight low this morning dropped to 8°, narrowly missing the record set over fifty years ago.  It’s cold.  Very cold.

Another round of snow and freezing rain is in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning.  I guess I’ll stay close to home for the next couple of days.

I’ll be making some chicken stock shortly for homemade chicken and noodles.  I might have to fix a cup of hot chocolate while I’m doing that.

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.  Awesome!
