Malware designed to re-direct unsuspecting users to bad web sites infected thousands of computers last year. The culprits responsible for the infections were busted and the FBI quickly took control over DNS servers. However, the FBI will no longer keep those servers running. On January 9th, the equipment will be un-plugged.
What does this mean to you? If your computer is infected, you won’t be able to connect to the internet.
I’d suggest you make sure your computers aren’t infected before Monday.
